Thompson was appointed the Hoyas' coach in 1972-73. He transformed a team that had finished 323 last year. Thompson was the Hoyas' head coach and they went on to win six Big East Tournament championships. Thompson's teams are known for their physical and tough defense. Pete Wilk

Peter Wilk is an American baseball coach and former professional player. He played college baseball at Rollins College for Boyd Coffie and was the head coach of the Georgetown Hoyas. Currently, he manages the Vermont Lake Monsters in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. Wilk was raised in Fort Pierce Florida. He has a Master's degree from the University of Washington in Sports Administration and has coached high school and college baseball.

Danny Hurley

Danny Hurley, a former college basketball player, is interested in the Georgetown coaching position. Danny Hurley, the son of Bob Hurley, is an ex-player who has had experience in turning around teams. In his senior year, the Georgetown player averaged 14.3 ppg and 5.2 assists per match. Hurley's coaching experience includes his time as a professional basketball player and as a coach at St. Benedict's in New Jersey, where he helped to make the school a national leader. His record there was 223-21 after nine seasons.

Bob Schmidt

After a long and successful career as a USC Trojans quarterback, Bob Schmidt was named head football coach at Georgetown University. Schmidt was an already third-year student in law when he got hired. His first game was against Frostburg State scheduled for Nov. 23, however, it was cancelled due to President Kennedy's death. Schmidt graduated in 1964 from Georgetown. Schmidt is the Orange Bowl's only winning head coach.
